Raw Food Inspiration: There’s an App for That!

As a self-proclaimed tech geek, I’m not really sure why it took me so long to think about looking for Raw food apps for my iPad. Sitting on the couch on Sunday nights to relax has a way of recharging my brain, and last night, the thought of seeking raw food inspiration via an app on my iPhone or iPad finally occurred to me!

Here’s a run down of the apps I found, along with some basic info, in case you ‘re looking for a little inspiration yourself…

By far, this is my favorite of all the apps I downloaded, with robust functionality and tons of recipes…and it was also the least expensive! Go figure.

Raw Food Chef Pro By Rebecca Maldonado
The most expensive of the apps I purchased, but still worth the cost, with some great recipes & functionality. If you like this app, and like me, are a lover of Mexican food & flavors, you may also want to check out her Raw Food Chef Pro Mexican app!

iPhone, iPad, & iPod Touch

Cost:

$4.99

Eco Chef 10 Minute Meals With Bryan Au
Some great recipes here, especially if you’re looking for things you can make in a hurry. Not a huge fan of some of the quirky things he’s included, such as “Bacon and Eggs” (made to look like the dish but certainly not to taste like it in any way), but overall, highly functional. It’s also the only app I purchased with integrated video instructions.

Available for:

iPhone, iPad, & iPod Touch

Cost:

$1.99

Key Features:

- Over 100 recipes
- Video Instructionals
- Ability to Email Recipes
- Recommended Equipment for each Recipe
- Favorite recipes page
- Ask questions in the “Bryan Live” area

Classic Raw food recipes & meals
This app is definitely the least functional, but at $2.99, still hoping it will be a good investment by way of more additions to my raw food recipe library!

Available for:

iPhone, iPad, & iPod Touch

Cost:

$2.99

Key Features:

- “hundreds” of recipes
- Basic sort functionality by recipe type
- Note “Favorite” Recipes (but no summary page)
- Share recipes via Twitter, Facebook or Email
- Comment on Recipes

About Kristel Hayes

I began my raw food journey at the end of July 2011, and started the Raw Living Collective as a way to bring the joy of this happy healthy lifestyle to others by making it accessible and un-inimidating.

By day, I am founder of Mesh Marketing Creative Group, LLC. A technology, popular culture, and internet media junkie, I hold a bachelor of music from the University of California at Irvine (though I can only occasionally be caught playing for friends by the campfire nowadays). Comments

  1. I also like the JuiceMaster’s app which is a 7 day juice program but love all these ones you suggested.

  3. I bought this App. Twice. Every time I try to open the App it says it is downloading photos. Have yet to see a photo OR recipe.
